About Us

Founded in 1992, Carmela Foods was named after Anthony Tocco’s mother – an exceptional cook who instilled in her children a discerning palate and a love of unique, premium foods.  The company began life as a proudly family-run effort, and it remains so today. Over the years, new positions were filled by family members whose skillsets and interests matched the needs of our expanding business, creating a corporate culture based in tradition, a sense of ownership, and pride in the quality of our work.  

Today, the next generation has taken the reins.  Anthony’s nephew, CEO, Paul Buscemi, and his niece, Vice President, Carmie Vicari Gray, have moved into leadership positions and are ready to guide Carmela Foods toward the future.

They have a reputation as one of the cleanest and best facilities in the Midwest and are USDA inspected and HACCP compliant.

Chef Source, similar to Carmela Foods, is family-owned and operated, focusing on providing unique, high-quality products. Both companies were established on the belief that hard work, combined with a commitment to delivering top-notch service and products, would position them as market leaders. In 2018, Chef Source and Carmela Foods entered into a distinctive distribution partnership, granting customers access to the extensive product lines of both companies. This collaboration has allowed both companies to expand their product offerings and distribution areas.
